it is so quiet

It is so quiet here.

Sometimes the rhythmic hum of the printer drives me crazy and I have to turn on iTunes to drown out the sound.

The stillness forces me to go into my head. To climb in there and really, oh I don't know, analyze and criticize. You'd be surprised.

I've never been to this place. In this place.

This thing is - it is so quiet here. Sometimes I hear but I can't speak. Sometimes I step forward but nothing moves. My place doesn't move.

You wouldn't understand because you don't have to.

I know what to do, I always do.

playing with judy

Our next door neighbors Gracie, Liam and Sean all LOVE Judy - they have watched her grow from a little puppy into what she is today and they feel very close to her.

Gracie knocked on our back door Sunday night and asked if Judy could come and play with them - ummmmm, yes!!! The tricky part is that both Gracie and Liam are allergic to Judy and break out in hives when she licks them.

Obviously, they do not care about this fact AT ALL.

They come over fully covered in fabric (doesn't matter winter or summer they have boots, long pants, long sleeves - as much skin covered as possible).

We do what we can but try stopping an excited puppy from licking a pint sized human!

So Sunday night they started in their yard throwing balls over the fence or shoveling snow over the fence (Judy absolutely loves to catch snow - she jumps to the sky to catch snow).

After awhile Gracie could not take the separation any longer. She pleaded with her parents to let her come over to our yard.

"Please, please, please Mom - I feel that Judy and I have a connection. I love Judy. Judy and I are sweathearts!" (I am not exaggerating these quotes at all - seriously).

So Gracie and Liam came over to our yard and they ran around and played and it was hilarious. Judy loves them too.

The next morning Gracie gave Judy a picture she had drawn for her that said, "I love Judy."

It is hanging in Judy's kennel right now.

all our faces

The Langers and New Son-in-law

I ate Kenyan food this weekend.
And I liked it.

Jake's cousin Maria married Eliud on Saturday and it was beautiful.

They surrounded her with dance and music and draped her in cloth and beaded head-dresses as tears streamed down her face. As tears streamed down all our faces.

They said it was to welcome her to the family and to say thank you for her.

Cultures were joined, traditions were shared, bread was broken.
And I liked it.

lunar eclipse

Jake took this photo - he stood outside and froze his ass off to take it and I am blogging it....I think it looks awesome!

that's not true

I don't even care.
Wait, that's not true.
It really hurts and I don't know what to say.
Wait, that's not true.
I do know what to say.
Fuck you.

I eat it to match the weather.
I eat it to make me feel better.

mind body spirit

I am back. Minnesota is very cold. Arizona was very fine. Mom and Dad are hilarious. Jake is the best. Missed Judy so much. Watched the Grammy's and loved every minute. Going to try and cut sugar out of my diet. Or at least try to cut back. I am addicted. I am back home just trying to connect mind body spirit and live life to the fullest. Blah blah.

great break

Heading to Arizona for a week to visit my parents! Judy is going to a boarding kennel for vacation as well - she will be playing with dogs and new people ALL day and she is excited! It will be a great break from the responsibility of watching her every second - but we are going to miss her so much!

get a clue

There are just some people who don't get it; who think they are funny and laugh at their own jokes; who think they are cool but continue to cross the line of appropriate social behaviors and conversation; who are so weird, insecure, and rude they can't see the signs - the signs that others are offended by their words, actions, and innuendos...GET A CLUE PEOPLE!

I almost said something this morning. I almost did. But didn't. I feel like I should have. I feel like I don't want to ever support them or go there again. I am experiencing the flight of "fight or flight." I don't want their to be a next time...GET A CLUE PEOPLE!
