puffy

As tears roll out of my puffy eyes down my checks I miss her.

Last night after what seemed like an already bad day I found out that my dog, Patches, was put to sleep.

I could not stop crying. I really really couldn't.

Even though I had said "good-bye" to her when I was home for Thanksgiving, I am still so sad.

I didn't think it would be this hard.

Patches was a great dog. She didn't like me too much when she first met me, but a few years later she was licking my face like a popsicle.

I'll miss patches too Anne, and I'm sad that she is gone.

Anne - I'm so sorry about your dog. I had a golden retreiver named Trouble for 16 years. I was away at college when she was put down and I cried for a month solid.
I got teary just reading that post.

Thanks for your comments today. I am deeply sorry to hear about Patches. We have our own aging doggy and my heart breaks to think of a time without him.

God bless you during this time of mourning for a best friend.

Oh Anne, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I just met Patches a few months ago and she was very sweet. It's ok to cry until you feel better.

I am so, so, so sorry. I know what that feels like. When we put my dog to sleep I was a wreck. I cried every day for 3 months straight. And I still think about her all the time (we put her down in 1998).

Wow, I know this isn't easy for you. Loss sucks, for lack of a more elegant and comforting expression. I still have a very deep sigh every time I walk by the grave of Miss Kitty in a corner of my garden. It's hard.

It's great that your family was able to totally embrace Patches as a member of the family while she was here. Cute picture by the way :)
