Monday Jake and I celebrated our one month wedding anniversary! I cannot believe how four weeks feels like forever and also just yesterday.
For months we planned and prepared and cleaned and de-cluttered. It felt great. The house looked good. I felt ready. Ready for the wedding gifts!

summer heat
I want to be back.
Back to normal.
Back to not exhausted.
From the wedding.
From life.
From life after the wedding.
Tonight I feel like I am almost back.
I just biked around my block on my vintage bike I bought last year after my sleek road bike was stolen from my then 'new' garage. I am going to post a photo of this vintage bike of mine because I think it deserves a photo.
Anyway, on my way through the alley I run into Tom. Tom, the neighbor who hoards. Hoards everything and I mean everything - on his porch, in his backyard, in his garage, and in his car. Tom is hilarious. He is the neighborhood 'fixer upper man' who has saw horses and ladders and paint brushes and actually lets you borrow them. He is great. Tom still has a toy plastic rocking horse on his back porch and his youngest kid is 23 years old and getting married in three weeks.
Tom and I chatted about weddings and the cost of weddings and his ex-wife and his son who is getting married in Two Harbors in three weeks and how on their 'Save the Date' said Tom and his girlfriends name BUT on the invite it said Tom and "GUEST" -- whoa!
I just rode my bike as fast as I could around and around and around and around my block and it was fantastic. The wind in my hair and the summer heat on my face.
I am back!

my veil
Three weeks before the wedding and after a moment of total panic I decided I HAD TO HAVE A VEIL....up until that point I thought I did not. Oh was I so wrong. Of course I needed a veil. Hello! So I called l'atelier Couture, the shop I had gotten my dress, and they assured me that there was enough time for them to make me the veil I wanted. It was ready the week of the wedding and it was lovely and dramatic and so much fun!

today
Today is the day! It is finally here --- it feels awesome! We are so excited!
Yesterday afternoon we had a rehearsal out at the farm with family and friends and it was beautiful.
Then we ate at the Dock Cafe in Stillwater and it was so wonderful I couldn't believe it. As I sat at our table and looked around to our family and friends I just tried to take it all in - everyone was enjoying the food and drinks and conversation -- people were laughing and everyone was happy.
Today is going to be just the same.

3 days
There is only a Thursday and a Friday and then it is THE SATURDAY!!!
Three days until we tie the knot.
It has been busy busy busy leading up to this week --- I had to work all last weekend, Jake had his bachelor party with his friends on Saturday night, we got our marriage license on Monday - which just happens to be the last possible day to get one for our marriage to actually be legal on Saturday - then that night I went out with my girlfriends for my bachelorette party - dinner, cosmos, Sex and the City - it was the best! We drove to the farm on Tuesday to deliver bottles and jars, finalized the wine and beer, I picked up my dress, Jake picked up his suit, we gocco printed all 215 favors, we finished up with all our must play songs, we edited the ceremony draft and picked two readings, we double checked with the ALL the vendors - the tent, chairs, linens, etc, the caterers, the cake, the jimmy jonny's (don't ask!), the audio equipment people, the farm, the photographer, the officiant, the dog kennel, and the harpist. OH MY GOSH.
If you are out there and you happen to be coming to this fabulous party - please have fun! Tell us you are having fun! And then tell us again! Drink, eat and DANCE - please dance! And stay late. Stay until the smores!

bachelorettehood
I am currently in bachelorettehood.
So what do I do with all that time?
I have been cleaning, organizing, and preparing the house for....marriage, I guess?
I have been telling people that I am nesting.
There is no stopping me --- house, garage, basement, closets, kitchen, and yard projects have consumed the last month of weekends.
It has been exhilarating!
So now we have two new side fences, a fenced vegetable garden, shelves and tool organizers in the garage, potted plants in the front, basement shelves, organized containers stuffed and labeled (yes, we bought a label maker!!!), organized linen and bedroom closets, and a office paper filing system firmly in place.
I have done this all while planning the wedding ----- and played fetch with Judy everyday!
I am exhausted and ready for vacation. I mean, the wedding...I mean, the marriage.
After this weekend (which i will be working) I have THREE weeks off. I can't remember the last time I had three weeks of vacation. I am so so so very excited.
I might have forgotten to mention that Jake has helped with all these projects...I couldn't have done them all myself!
Also, Jake planned our honeymoon -- and we are going to Martha's Vineyard!!!!! I don't know any other details, other than the destination, so everything else will be a surprise!

It was unbelievably over-the-top amazing!
