I rolled into St. Paul yesterday afternoon and it felt great to finally be in my own space after almost two weeks away. I didn't have any toilet paper though.
Today I walked downtown to visit my friends at Starbucks. I have missed them so very much! Allisa, Paige, and Miriam were all there, so it was perfect. I got all caught up on the happenings of their lives and of course a little Starbucks gossip. Things have been busy; Allisa had her first ultra sound, Paige put in her two weeks notice, and Miriam bought a house!
Tomorrow Jake is visiting for the weekend so I hope we can all get together.
Also, Jake finally posted some new illustrations. Check them out at Poorly Illustrated.

Ah! Starbucks...love it so much and you know, that was one of my best jobs (worked at the one in Highland Park)...seriously.
WOW. I had no idea! When did you work there? Did you know Forrest? Abdu? Zeb?
Yeah, Starbucks was a great job. I worked with my friends, tips were great, I got full benefits, etc. etc.
i lovvvvvvvvveeee their chocolate stuff.
hot chocolate, with whipped cream is my all time favorite!
Jake's illustrations are awesome! I love the hair on his self-portrait.
Getting caught up with friends is so fulfilling. And spending time with your sweetie is, too.
Have a good time, and do some more relaxing, but don't forget to photo-blog your soon-to-be-old neighborhood, ;-)
Anne,
Your trip to Montana with your mom sounded wonderful. Checked out Jake's illustrations, he is so talented, but I couldn't leave him a comment. Hope you are enjoying your time at home, must be nice to get some alone time, huh? Miss you lots and talk to you soon.

I am amazed at this Starbucks thing. I don't really like coffee though so I am sure that renders me unqualified to make this judgement....
I worked at a Starbucks in downtown Phx for a little while. Yum yum yummy!
Iced Venti non-fat melted Carmal Machiato with an add shot.
That's back in my caffiene-crazed days though.
I love Jake's illustrations. :)
The first time I met Jake was hilarious. All of the new Graduate TA's were all at the Sandmann's house in a circle. We were waiting for someone to start the introductions, as we all looked around at eachother, each of us too nervous (funny that we were are communication scholars) to go first. Then from to the side of me I hear, "Well, I guess I'll go first. I am Jake, Anne's boyfriend." I remember thinking, wow, he is so much cooler than the rest of us are in this situation! What an awesome and funny guy you have there Anne. Have a great weekend together. Hey, when are you moving and when is he going to pop the question? (thought maybe it's been awhile since you heard that one!)
i love starbucks but one time i ordered a venti iced coffee and felt like i was on speed for the entire day...seriously, i was high.
welcome back.
Hey I don't know any of those people :( I worked there in 1999-2000. To this day, I can still order my drink in perfect Starbuckese.
sucks to be toilet paperless....
maybe you pinched some napkins from starbucks?
he`s going to pop the question??
*gulp"
when??????? oh this is so exciting!
Still Figuring Out---You gotta have whipped cream! I love it too!
Thomas---Hi! I am loving my summer of "unemployment"...except when I sleep until noon! Oh well!
Jayleigh---His hair can get out of control sometimes...he has crazy curls!
I will definitely post pictures of my neighborhood!! Great idea!
Hi Trisha! Thanks for the comment. I think that Jake doesn't allow anonymous comments...that might be why it didn't work. Miss you too!
Nctrnl---Hi! I had never even been in a Starbucks let alone did I drink coffee before I worked there. I am glad that I didn't get addicted to coffee, it is more of a treat for me!
Kiki---Iced Carmel Macchiato is Jakes favorite drink! They are so yummy!
Marissa---Oh, good! Thanks for checking them out!
Christa---Wow! Thanks for sharing that silly story! I think you might have started something with that second to last line... :)
Amanda---Oh, no! I know how you feel, the caffeine affects me too!
Cheryl---Okay, you were probably their before they started...isn't it fun to know how to order!
Geezer Squeezer---Hi! Yeah it does...luckily I have a market three blocks away!
Still Figuring Out---Oh no! Christa really started something now. I know nothing about him "popping the question." I will let you all know if it happens though :)
Thomas---Wow! Thanks so much :)
